Side-Table made and designed by Designer-Maker Omid Jahankhani. The onyx top is inset to the central sapele wood column forming a unique geometric structure of architectural quality.  This table is part of the Off-cut Series. Today the collection consists of 8 unique pieces of home ware and furniture.

Behind the Off-Cut Series

The 'Off-cut Series' breathes new life into disregarded materials. Jahankhani collected discarded (waste) onyx & sapele wood to form distinctive objects with purpose. He locally sourced both materials from North West London by contacting material specialists and inquiring about their waste. Jahankhani chose to preserve previous saw marks and blemishes alongside the makers marks, celebrating the inherited history of the materials into their redesign.

Omid Jahankhani is an emerging experimental product designer. His work celebrates the skill of craftsmanship and explores how materials can be used innovatively to reduce waste.

This series embraces raw material in its most found state to keep production waste minimal.
