Deep Roots Grow Strong is a hand dyed cotton fabric using natural dyes.

Material / Technique: natural dyes on cotton. The cotton is deadstock fabric. Deadstock fabric is unused, surplus textiles left over from previous production runs or discontinued stock, often from fashion brands or textile mills.

Artist Roberta Schreyer

Roberta Schreyer is a London based Textile Artist investigating how the arts can set hope in the climate narrative and restore the broken human-nature relationship to encourage social and environmental justice. Her practice integrates and preserves ancient knowledge with a strong focus on natural dyes aiming to build communities of care to achieve environmental and social resilience. Roberta creates many of her pieces on deadstock fabric, through her work, these fabrics are saved from landfill or destruction.

Commissions: Roberta's work can be commissioned for a specific spaces. Roberta is able to design bespoke wall-hangings, signs of solidarity and enduring banners for messages of hope in the face of the climate and biodiversity loss emergency. For all inquiries speak to Sarah - hello@canopi.lu
